Accounting Manager

As Accounting Manager, your core responsibilities are to complete day-to-day accounting functions within Broker Management System.  You will work closely with the Finance Manager to provide accurate information for creation of financial reporting to the President.  In addition, you will work closely with the production team to guide them in regards to technology, billing/invoicing questions and monitor quality of transacting.  You will be accountable to the Vice President Commercial Lines to provide administrative support to the commercial lines team.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounts payable, capital asset and expense accounts
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, cash management
  • Issue client refunds, and direct bill advance payments
  • Manage membership requirements with regulatory boards; RIBO and IBAO
  • Work closely with external auditor as required for yearend completion and Government Tax filing
  • Payroll, group benefits and new employee administration backup
  • Cross train with Finance Manager for all accounting/finance functions
  • Liaise with internal production team to ensure data integrity
  • Process transactions on policies, invoicing and commission discrepancies
  • Prepare documentation related to client account management
  • Assist in ESign docs, deliver and attach new application packages
  • IT user configuration, trouble shooting (passwords/locked accounts) backup
  • Liaise with external IT consulting services as required

An ideal candidate must be RIBO licensed with a minimum of one year of insurance related sales and customer service experience.  Skills and attributes for this position include:

Technical Service Representative – Personal or Commercial Lines

An ideal candidate must be RIBO licensed with a minimum of five years of insurance experience.  Skills and attributes for this position include:

  • Commitment to learn and adhere to  W. B. White Insurance coverage standards and service levels
  • Monitoring the quality of data and client underwriting information; Maintain file integrity for the protection of our clients
  • Proficient with multiple company portals and underwriting regulations
  • Stay current with ongoing changes in underwriting guidelines, products, and endorsements from our insurance partners, with the ability to apply the regulations to customer specific situations
  • Navigate underwriting manuals and correctly interpret company guidelines to make appropriate decisions
  • Understand how to read policy declaration pages for all insurance partners.
  • Embrace technology; Ability to work from various systems and carrier platforms as part of day to day function

Junior Accountant/Admin

As an Administrator, your core responsibilities are to complete day-to-day accounting functions within Broker Management System. Commercial Lines Account Manager

Summary Objective

As an Account Manager, your core responsibility is to provide superior customer service to all W B White Insurance clientele. Developing and nurturing a strong trust relationship with customers to understand their specific coverage requirements. You will be expected to actively seek opportunities for revenue generation and place or refer business to our Sales Team.

Major Responsibilities

  • Maximize growth through superior customer service, responsible for building and managing relationships with existing customers, to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new opportunities
  • Focus on achieving sales/revenue/KPI targets both individual and department
  • Deliver professional and expert knowledge tailored to our client’s needs
  • Be a Brand Ambassador; actively promote W B White Insurance within the community and W B White events
  • Assist and guide customers with coverage changes, payment options and general inquiries
  • Educate customers as to coverage limitations, document on system & recommend additional coverage where needed
  • Use every service contact as an opportunity to review, up sell coverage and provide cross sell leads to our sales department
  • Promptly return calls, respond to emails, voicemails and faxes

  • Maintain file integrity; Input and update data and document all interactions in Brokerage Management System

Commercial Lines Marketing Representative

Summary Objective

As Commercial Lines Marketing, your core responsibilities will be to provide support and guidance to Account Managers and Account Executive. As a non-client facing position, you will lead our marketing efforts across all Commercial business including new, renewal, and re-market opportunities. You will use your Commercial Lines product and industry knowledge to work out in front of our Account Managers to identify opportunities to enhance our profitability. You will assess our current book of business to find opportunities to enhance commissions which will directly impact our bottom line. You will report directly the Vice President – Commercial Lines.

Major Responsibilities

Marketer – Commercial Lines

  • Pro-actively remarket accounts within W.B. White’s existing book of business to enhance profitability.
  • Assist production staff with marketing of new business when needed.
  • Assist external relationship brokers with marketing new and renewal business.
  • Maintain working relationships with underwriters at contracted markets.
  • Stay current with ongoing changes in underwriting guidelines, products, and endorsements from our insurance partners, with the ability to apply the regulations to client specific situations.
  • Assist the Vice-President Commercial Lines with book rollovers when needed.
  • Update and maintain client data integrity.
  • Identify and correspond with Account Managers and/or client via letter/email with recommendations for coverage options.
  • Work closely with Account Managers and Account Executives on client files to ensure the highest level of customer service and protection
  • Development, train and implement use of effective Marketing Documents, Applications and Workflows.

Minor Responsibilities

Technical Service Representative – Commercial Lines

  • Provide back up and assistance to Technical Service Reps as needed
  • Provide relief and support to other TSR’s during vacation and sick days as needed
  • Assist the Vice-President, Commercial Lines with tasks as needed

Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to take direction and instruction from management
  • Strong understanding of W. B. White Insurance standards, workflows and service levels
  • Functional understanding of the Broker Management System (EPIC)
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Epic, Applied Rating Services, Adobe Acrobat preferred.
